She is not and does not intend to run for political office.
(A) is not and does not intend to run
(B) is not running and does not intend to
(C) is not and will not run
(D) is not running and does not intend to run
(E) has not and does not run

OA is D. Why not C?

Break the sentence. The phrase 'is not ... run' doesn't make sense right. Hence 'is not running and does not intend to run' is the correct option.

Think of the meaning of the sentence. The sentence can be split into two segments: something she is not doing now and something that she will not do in future. Therefore, different verbs should be used to achieve such differentiation.

Lets Check out option C
(C) is not and will not run
She is not run / She will not run
CHeck the first part " She is not run"
This sounds horrible.
Hence C is wrong
This time no looking back!!!

As others have said, you have to keep in mind what is left out in an ellipsis. It also would have been correct to say She is not running and does not intend to do so.
