Should i rescedule my GMAT Appointment

by A1038 » Tue Sep 18, 2012 8:36 am
Hi,

I am appearing for my GMAT on 9th October. This will be my 2nd attempt after messing it up in my first attempt (630 - 49Q 28V) on Jan-2012. I started preparing for GMAT from August , but still i am not able to perform consistently in my mock tests so i am bit hesitant whether i should take my GMAT on 9th .
Please find my last 5 mock GMAT scores as mentioned below:
Manhattan GMAT 1 - 680 (Q48 V34)
Manhattan GMAT 2 - 740 (Q50 V41)
Manhattan GMAT 3 - 650 (Q48 V32)
Manhattan GMAT 4 - 690 (Q49 V35)
GMAT Prep 1 - 680 (Q49 V34)

My Verbal score is still in the lower side and after reviewing the pattern i found that most of my mistakes in the verbal section are occuring within the first 10 questions. Say i am correctly answering 31 out of the 41 questions but out of the 10 incorrect questions 5-6 are within first 10 question and hence my score is coming down. I am really confused, as i am aiming a score of 700+.
(Section wise analysis - Out of 10 incorrect ansers RC - 6 , CR - 2, SC - 2).

Could please suggest any improvement strategies i can adopt which might help in improving my verbal score. Should i Reschedule my exam ?

If you have more time, I would suggest pushing back your exam. You don't want to have to be at your best to get the score you want...

Thanks Jim.
I am afraid i dont have much time. I can postpone it to maximum of 2 weeks. I am lagging a lot in my verbal. I am having real difficulty in pushing my Verbal score. Not sure another 2 weeks will help or not.
