Intended meaning of the sentence is that report should summarize. "summarizing" clearly modifies report in A.
D is ambiguous whether report to summarize or analysts to summarize.

Financial institutions have begun demanding that analysts design a report summarizing profit
and loss data for the last five years.

The phrase "have begun" implies that the demand started sometime in the past and continuing. So the institutions are still demanding for a report that summarizes data.

(A) demanding that analysts design a report summarizing ...and demand takes that..also called bossy verbs...Correct

(B) demanding analysts to design a report summarizing ....the correct idiom for demand that

(C) demanding designed reports of analysts summarizing ...changes meaning

(D) to demand that analysts design a report to summarize ....a report that summarizes is better.

(E) to demand that analysts should design a report to summarize ...same as above.

What does the following signify ?
"have begun to demand"

I think this question is an example of "Present Perfect Continuous" Tense.

We use Present Perfect tense to show an action which started in the past and that either continues in the present or its result continues in present

Present perfect continuous tense seems to be doing the same thing. So how do we decide which tense?
