The rules used to explain GMAT sentence correction questions are sometimes too complex to understand.

e.g. "Who" is used as the object of the verb and "whom" is used as the Object of the verb or of a preposition.
I am not able to figure these complex terms in a sentence.
As a result, I am not able to understand some of the rules and hence my sentence does not improve much.
Do I need to go to the basics to understand clauses, object , subject etc,

if yes, how much do I need to study to grasp the basics and understand the rules used in GMAT sentence correct questions.
Please help, my exam is just 1 month away.

I believe that by proper practice you can apply the rules appropriately in actual questions. For every question you solve, while checking the answer if you start analyzing the wrong answers and see why they are wrong, you would learn a lot.
I suggest you to read Manhattan guide for Sentence correction. After the end of each chapter, he asks you to solve questions pertaining to the chapter. If you follow that procedure, in no time you will be able to apply the concepts.

This is just my opinion, hope it helps !
