A: each butterfly representing a religious icon in its

C: all the butterflies representing a religious icon in its
D: all the butterflies representing a religious icon in their
E: each butterfly representing a religious icon within their

Is anything grammatically wrong with option D?

My scan detects no grammar issues, but rather one of distorted meaning: D could actually mean that all the butterflies represent the same religious icon, e.g. all the butterflies represent Budha.

A is correct because it retains the original meaning. no more.
