Candy Bars question

by cmal_s » Thu Mar 25, 2010 12:11 am
q) rasheed bought 2 kinds of candy bars, Chocolate and Tofee, that came in packages of 2 bars each.
he handed out 2/3 of chocloate bars and 3/5 of candy bars. How many chocloate bars did rasheed buy?

1) rasheed bought 1 fewer chocoloate bar than toffee bar

2) rasheed handed out the same number of each candy bar.

So i think

1) would have the equation

x= y+1

2) equation

2/3x=3/5y

what do u say and then we solve and get negative Y?
