IMO E
for a,b and cwe are getting infinite line segment
D again a infinite line segment
E only finite line hence is correct

a) x can take any value > or < 1 so infinite
b) x can take any value <=3 so infinite
c)x can take any value >2 or <-2 again infinite
d) line can be in ist and 2nd qurd

sorry typo D is two line seg

sorry typo D is two line seg
By saying 2 line segment do you mean x is between -2 and -5 in II quad and between 2 and 5 in I quad?

D is finite, but has two line segment.
x > 0: 2<= x< =5
x < 0: -2>= x >= -5

Since, above two intervals do not have any common point, they will be represent different segments.
I don't think we can say anything about quadrants, because value of Y is unknown.

IMO E because the qn is asking for a solution with a SINGLE line segment of finite length. In option D, there are more than 1 (violating the word SINGLE) line segments, hence eliminate D.
