If it had been "a spacecraft" it would have been ventures
How is Spacecraft a collective noun? is an Aeroplane a collective noun?

I ruled A out because of Subject verb agreement.
If you ruled A out because of S-V agreement, you would have had to rule out the other four choices as well, since no choice contains the word "ventures".
