Improving verbal

by ranji » Sat Nov 10, 2007 9:15 am
Hi,

In my first attempt on GMAT, I was hit on my verbal scores.

I happened to read somewhere that 'Sentnce Correction' is one section you can improve a lot compared to others. So I have been working on SC only for the last few weeks..

What would you suggest I take up next? critical reasoning or RC?

My target is 690. and my first attempt gave me 610.[M - 47 V-27]

Please suggest

Since your V is relatively low, you should probably focus on all three sections not just SC. There is a wide margin for improvement from 27. Can you provide more details about your study materials and what verbal preparation you've done in the past?

Are you familiar with the verbal question types and specific strategies to address each one? You can try one of the workbooks that are available for verbal if you have not already looked into one of them: PR verbal workbook or Kaplan verbal workbook.
