At Springfield High, three fourths of the male and one half of the female students speak a foreign language. If there are two-thirds as many male as female students at the high school, what fraction of the students speak a foreign language? :)

x= Male
y= Female

3/4x+1/2y= Total # of students who speak a foreign language.
M=2/3F--> x=2/3y
3/4(2/3y)+1/2y= y
x+y= total number of students in school----> 2/3y+y=5/3y

Answer: (y)/(5y/3)=3/5
