My shot at INSEAD

Hi all,

I'm planning to apply to INSEAD round 3 July 28 deadline. I'm not sure whether it's a good idea applying in round 3, however I'd like to start early in January, if possible, rather than wait until September 2011 . Can someone please advise whether applying in round 3 is a good idea?

Also, what are my chance of getting into INSEAD

GMAT - 760 99 percentile V 95, Q93 (V42 , Q50)
Decent/Good academics, I have an engineering undergrad.

I have 7 years of work exp, 5 years of International exp in the US. I work as a product manager at one of the big for accounting firms and manage a multi million dollar portfolio.

I can speak 4 languages. Over the last couple years I have been actively engaged in several fund raisers and other extra curr..

Please let me know whether I have a decent chance. Where can I find some tips for INSEAD essays. Thank you

Hi there,
Without knowing anything more about you then what you have posted..yes, you do seem a good fit for INSEAD even applying in R3. Your high GMAT, your challenging undergrad, your corporate role, and your excellent international profile are all great qualities in an INSEAD app. Seven years work experience is a bit higher than the average length (just over five) but not necessarily a factor against you.

As for the rounds, I am quoting below from INSEAD's own admissions page:
Competition for each round is relatively equal, so there is generally little advantage to be gained by early application. Whenever you apply, please make sure that you submit a complete and well-prepared application pack.
As for INSEAD essay help, an Internet search will reveal lots of help, but your first step should be in-depth research of the school itself and how it meets your needs and how you would fit in there.

I wouldn't be afraid of R3. I was accepted as an R3 applicant (not at INSEAD but at a top-10 US school) and there is nothing terribly unusual or wonderful about me so I know it can be done!! They wouldn't offer a round if they weren't planning to accept people!
