Two new grocery stores, Shoprite and Megashop, have just opened in the city of Lake Forest. While both stores have nearly identical layouts and sell products for the same average price per item Shoprite attracted 85 percent more customers than Megashop in the first two months the stores were open.

Each of the following explains why Shoprite has attracted more customers than Megashop EXCEPT:

A) Megashop specializes in ethnic ingredients that are unfamiliar to the local population while Shoprite specializes in familiar, local ingredients.

B) Shoprite only sells "family size" items with more than 5 servings per package while Megashop specializes in single serve items.

C) Shoprite opened in a well-established shopping area while Megashop opened in a new development are that is not yet popular

D) Shoprite pays significantly lower rent when compared to Megashop and is thus able to make a higher profit

E) Megashop hired inexperienced cashiers and had longer lines than Shoprite, which hired experienced cashiers.
