Sequence A is defined by the equation An = 3n + 7, where n is an integer greater than or equal to 1. If set B is comprised of the first x terms of sequence A, what is the median of set B ?
(1) The sum of the terms in set B is 275.
(2) The range of the terms in set B is 30.
Ans : D
if i take n=1, A=10....but if i take continous n=1,1,1,1 and 2,2,2, then how the ans will be D
cos it is not said that it is distinct.....i can take n=1 as many times .....
like for the second condition.
if n=1,..then A=10 and in ths way 13,16,.....upto 40.
so we get a median..
but what if 10,13,13,13,13,13,13,13,40 then median is changn..
pl explain......shall i need to thnk that n is distinct...ie there will be no repetation
