if M and N are positive integers and mn=k is M+N=K+1

1. m=1

2. k= is a prime number

the answer is D

I want to know how I should evaluate this q.

I dont know how it can be D

1 - sufficient. mn = k. So, if m = 1, n = k. So m+n = 1+k

2 - sufficient. If k is prime, the only 2 factors are k and 1. So only 2
values are possible. {m=k, n=1} or {m=1, n=k}. Both yield k+1 as sum

Hence D.
