I wantted to share this question to show ,how tricky can sometimes be DS questions..

A store bought Q windows at $150 per window and W shelves at $75
per shelve. What is the total price of the windows and the shelves?
(1) The Q windows cost $600.
(2) Q + W/2 = 12.

OA : B
The more you suffer before the test, the less you will do so in the test! :)

Total cost to the shop = 150Q + 75W = 75(W + 2Q)

(1) Gives us the value of Q, but nothing about W, so not sufficient

(2) Q + (W/2) = 12

=> 2Q + W = 24

Putting this in the original, we get the total price as 75 x 25, sufficient

Hence (B)

Cost of 1 Q window = $150
Cost of 1 W shelf = $75
We need to find the value of 150Q + 75W.

(1) The Q windows cost $600 implies 150 * Q = 600 or Q = 4, but we have no info about W; NOT sufficient.

(2) Q + W/2 = 12 or 2Q + W = 24
Multiply the above equation by 75, 150Q + 75W = 1800; SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is B.
