Robots X, Y, and Z!!!

by apoorva.srivastva » Fri Jun 05, 2009 10:46 pm
Robots X, Y, and Z each assemble components at their respective constant rates. If rx is the ratio of robot X’s constant rate to robot Z’s constant rate and ry is the ratio of robot Y’s constant rate to robot Z’s constant rate, is robot Z’s constant rate the greatest of the three?

(1) rx < ry
(2) ry < 1

I got C as my answer.

The question stem simplified is:

rx = x/z
ry = y/z

Choice 1 states that y>x : Insufficient because no info about z is given
Choice 2 states that z>y : Insufficient because no info about x is given.

together x<y<z

So z is the greatest out of the three.
