1 x=y

2 x=2
Please confirm if the question is as follows:

If xy is not equal to 0, what is the value of [(x - y)/y] - [(x - y)/x]?

If xy is not equal to 0, what is the value of [(x - y)/y] - [(x - y)/x]?

Solving [(x - y)/y] - [(x - y)/x], we get (x² - 2xy + y²)/xy = (x - y)²/xy
So, now the question is If xy is not equal to 0, what is the value of (x - y)²/xy?

(1) x = y implies x - y = 0.
So, (x - y)²/xy = 0
Hence, (1) is SUFFICIENT.

(2) x = 2 does not give the value of y.
So, (2) is NOT SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is A.

[(x - y)/y] - [(x - y)/x] = ?
[(x/y) - 1] - [1 - (y/x)] = ?

1) x = y
[(x/x) - 1] - [1 - (x/x)] = ?
[1 - 1] - [1 - 1] = ?
0 - 0 = 0

2) x = 2
[(2/y) - 1] - [1 - (y/2)] = ?
