Hi Alltime,

1) I am not sure what the question is. I see spelling mistakes which make me wonder about the credibility of the question.

For 2)
Answer is A.
Stmt 1: you are given the ration between X and Y. To find X is what % of Y, you need X/Y * 100 which is given.
Stmt 2: X + Y =100 not enough since X and Y can take a lot of values.
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)

required (x/y)*100;--------1)
1) x=(1/4)y;
submitting this in 1 we have;
((1/4)y/y)*100=1/4*100=25% hence 1 alone is sufficient.

2) x+y=100;
x=100-y;
submitting this in 1 we have;
(100-y/y)*100; now we cannot find the value of this expression as we don't know y; therefore 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.!!

hence answer should be A
