A Fence is around a rectangular garden and the length:breadth for fence is 3:1. The total area covered by the fence and the garden is 1600 and the difference in the area of fence and garden is 400.What is the length of the fence?

the dimensions of the fence are 3x and x, which means its area is 3x^2. If the area of the total space is 1600 and the difference in area between garden space and enclosed fence area is 400, then 3x^2+400=1600, or x=20.

The length therefore is 60.

This is kind of a confusinq question tho: are they asking for perimeter or length?
