(2) ABC and ADC are isosceles.
This does not tell us any values regarding the angles x and y.
NOT SUFFICIENT.


Combining, angles BAC and BCA are equal. Since x = 70, BAC = BCA = (180 - 70)/2 = 55. But this still does not tell us anything regarding y.
NOT SUFFICIENT.


Answer is (E).
