1.

Using both (1) and (2):

You can start by giving letters to each angle.

Angle RQS = angle RSQ = c
Angle TSU = angle TUS = d

We know that (x+c+d) = 180
We also know that angle PRT + PTR =90

But PRT = 180 - 2c and PTR = 180 - 2d

So, 180 - 2c + 180 - 2d = 90

Therefore, d + c = 135 and x = 180 - 135 = 45

Choose(c).

2.

Using both (1) and (2):

Xi = Xi - 1 / 2 for i > 1
So, X2 = X1 / 2 or X1 = 2 * X2 and

X3 = X2 / 2 or X2 = 2 * X3 and

X4 = X3 / 2 or X3 = 2 * X4 and

X5 = X4 / 2 .......... (I)

but from (2) X5 = X4 / X4 + 1 ........... (II)

From (I) and (II)

X4 + 1 = 2 therefore, X4 = 1
therefore X3 = 2, X2 = 4 and X1 = 8

Choose(c).
