If y=-z where z is a prime number, what is the value of X?
1) |x+2| + 2 = y
2) y > -8

OA : A

I encountered this question on one of the sites with sample questions. I am not sure if the question is put forth in the correct manner. There is nothing mentioned about X and how it is derived.

I chose the answer as E since there was nothing about X. After looking at the OA, even the first statement gives two values of x. This is where I have a query.

In case of "find the value" questions on the DS section, is having multiple answers to the variable in question also considered as a Sufficient statement?

All prime numbers are positive.
As z is a prime number, y = -z must be a negative number.

Statement 1: (|x + 2| + 2) is a positive quantity. But we know that y is a negative quantity. Hence, there is no such x.

Sufficient

Statement 2: No information about x.

Not sufficient

The correct answer is A.
