1)x+y=1
2)X^2<y^2

IMO C

y can't be negative with the given information

statement 1 - insufficient,

statement 2 - insufficient

combining-

from statement 2

x and y can have both -ve and +ve values
however from 1
1-y = x (if y becomes -ve then x becomes more than y--->> which contradicts statement 2)

hence y has to be +ve.
therefore C
