stmt 1 tells us that 10^x*7^y = 7^4*10^0
so we can get x =4 and y =0 and then solve the equation in the question stem

10^(x+1) * 7^(y-1) = (10^x*10)*(7^y/7)

=10/7*(10^x*7^y)

1. --> 10^x/7^y is given therefore we can solve the eqn

suff

2. x+ y = 4 ...can have multiple solutions --insuff
