IMO: "A"
As we are concerned with the unit digit only, we can simply consider the unit digits of the two numbers of the product
=>3^x * 3^y, which is 3^(x+y)
=>(x+y) value is the only deciding factor.
Statement(1)=>sufficient
Statement(2)=>not sufficient as we don't know value of y
