How many ewes (female sheep) in a flock of 50 sheep are black?

1. There are 10 rams (male sheep) in the flock.
2. Forty percent of the animals are black.

A. statement 1 alone is sufficient, but statement 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question
B. statement 2 alone is sufficient, but statement 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question
C. both statements taken together are sufficient to answer the question, but neither statement alone is sufficient
D. each statement alone is sufficient
E. statements 1 and 2 together are not sufficient, and additional data is needed to answer the question

How many female sheeps are black?

stmt1,

Male sheeps=10

Female sheeps=40.

But no info abt color.

Insuffucient.

stmt2,

40% of 50 (ie)20 are black.

no info abt male or female

Insufficient.

Combining 1 and 2,

we still dont know how many female sheeps are black as no ratio given.

Hence E
