Gmat prep factor

Why cannot the ans be C.

OA is E

Factor of 30 and 12, common one is only 3 so one ans.

12= 2*6
30= 5*6

They share also 6 as a factor.

If we list the numbers that will satisfy k, we have

3, 4, 5, 6, 7

1) Statement 1:

K is a factor of 30

Therefore K could be 3, 5, 6 – Insufficient

2) Statement 2:

K is a factor of 12

Therefore K could be 3, 4, 6 – Insufficient

3) Combine Statement 1 and 2

Therefore K could be 3 and 6 – Insufficient

And Hence the answer is E

I get it

Stupid on my part. I was just considering the prime and not the factors, which can be any combinations with the primces.
