Simple DS Problem, Can you Explain ?

If x an z are integers, how many even integers y are there such that x < y < z ?

1. z-x = 4
2. x is odd

OA is C

Explanation given in PR Math workout is not convincing for me. Could anyone shed more light on this problem.

Only 8 is even.

7<x<11

8 and 10 are even.

You explanation states that answer is B, remember the official answer is C. Again it is not convincing.

may be leaf wasnt specific but the post is pointing towards C only.

The reason two number sets (6,10) and (7,11) are taken becuase the difference is 4 in both cases.
