Need the explaination for this DS Question

Quant review: Q 82.

If m and n are consecutive positive integers, is m greater than?

1. m-1 and n+1 are consecutive positive integers
2. m is an even number.

I am able to rephrase the Question as
Is m-n = 1 ?
Or Is m= n+1?

But I am unable to solve the the first statement.

Please Help

m,n are consecutive numbers => m = n-1 or m = n+1
m-1, n+1 are consecutive number => (m-1) = (n+1)-1 or (m-1) = (n+1)+1

Oh I see:

if m > n then m-1 = (n+1) - 1
= n
which proves that m= n+1
This is the proof that the question is asking for.
