Hi All,

2-part Parallelism can show up on the GMAT in a variety of ways. In all cases, we must compare "like" things and follow parallel format. In many cases, we'll also use a 2-Part phrase.

Some common 2-part phrases include:

either...or...
neither...nor...
between...and...

Here, we have a rarer 2-part phrase:

Just as....so....

It's worth noting that just because the word "just" shows up in the answer choices, this doesn't necessarily mean that we're going to use "just as...so...", but it does make it far more likely that we will.

The non-underlined portion of the sentence uses the phrase "nautical archaeologist", so we need to compare a "like" thing - in this case, an "archaeologist."

There"s only answer that has a valid comparison and a valid "2-part" phrase...

Final Answer: C
