I just have a quick question for your with regards my application essay and how to best discuss my low quant score.
I am applying to some smaller Canadian MBA programs. Some of them do not require a GMAT score, however if you do not have a "B" in a university-level calculus or stats course in the last 5 years, which I do not, then you are required to provide a GMAT score.
Most of these programs state that a minimum 550 on the GMAT is sufficient to show evidence of your quant skills. I achieved a 570 (with a high verbal mark and a average quant mark) and have been informed by some of my advisors at these schools that that is a strong enough mark to proceed with my applications.
My question is, in my application essays, when I am discussing my future career goals, when it be smart to discuss that I am not planning on majoring in finance or accounting, rather something more along the lines of business strategy and that my current quant skills are sufficient to allow me to succeed in the required finance and accounting courses?
Thanks you very much for your assistance with my question!
