A long time, 1:45ish

I'm going with C

I eliminated A because it contains reason and because.
I eliminated B because a term/word/phrase refers to.
I eliminated D because of system for classification
I don't think E makes sense. THe word was chosen to refer.... and it derived.... ??

Please advise.

A. The reason that the word cladistics was chosen to refer to a system of species classification based on the relationships and evolutionary ancestry of groups of organisms is because -------->usage of reason and because with in the same sentence causes redundancy, therefore, wrong option
B. The reason that the word cladistics is a system of species classification based on the relationships and evolutionary ancestry of groups of organisms is that ------> usage of this "that" again is not required
C. The word cladistics was chosen to refer to a system of species classification based on the evolutionary ancestry and relationships of groups of organisms because
D. The word cladistics was chosen to refer to a system for the classification of species that is based on the relationships and evolutionary ancestry of groups of organisms because -------> i would have rejected this because of wordiness and moreover here "that" refers to species not to "classification of species"
E. The word cladistics was chosen to refer to a system of species classification based on the relationships and evolutionary ancestry of groups of organisms and
