An alternate approach is to plug in the answers, which represent the increase each year.

Height after 2 more years = 6 + 2(1/2) = 7.
(increase from 4th year to 6th year)/(4th year) = (7-6)/6 = 1/6.
The increase is too small.
Eliminate A, B, and C.
Answer choice D: 2/3
Height after 4 years = 4 + 4(2/3) = 20/3.
Height after 2 more years = 20/3 + 2(2/3) = 24/3.
