My retake was today. My first attempt on 6/29 yielded a very disappointing 640 (40 Q, 38 V).

Today's retake, though, was a different story.

730 (50 Q, 40 V)

I owe a HUGE thank-you to the BTG community simply for posting challenging questions and excellent explanations, both of which helped refine my skills and prepare me for the big dance.

After my first attempt, I realized that I really needed to master the fundamentals. Although I scored 710, 730, and 740 in my GMATPrep exams before my 6/29 appointment, my knowledge of the fundamentals was so weak that slight tweaks in the structures of the problems would throw me off and make me anxious beyond control.

I also went into this appointment much calmer and more composed. One of the first four questions really shook me up and induced that "oh no, not again..." feeling, but I took a deep breath and held my ground. Let me tell you, when you're actually in the test center, all the anxiety you normally feel during practice exams is amplified by 50%, so keeping yourself composed is all the more important.

I'll be back with a debrief. I'm just so dang happy right now that I don't know how to make good use of my time (aside from celebrating with friends tonight, of course).

Really great to see someone going from 640 to 730. Waiting for your debrief, especially about what you did different from your first attempt.
