x=3y
now 6y-y=10
y=2
x=6

Answer: D

Solution:

From the second equation, we see that x = 3y. Substituting this in the first equation, we have:

2(3y) - y = 10

5y = 10

y = 2

Therefore, x = 3(2) = 6.

Answer: D
