Think about it, only two options on the number line - either Z is in between X and Y or Z is outside the range...

Pick two possibilites.. that suffice the "given" legnth of XY > Legnth of XZ

Y = -2
X = 1
Z = 2

OR

Y = -2
Z = 1
X =2

For both = XYZ < 0 and XY < 0

As such, IMO "E"

Let me know if I am not thinking this right...
