How many of me are out there?

So I figured I'd start a thread to see how many responses I get from people with a similar profile who are also applying to Harvard/Stanford/Wharton (i.e. Too cookie cutter for their own good)

My background/about me:
- White male 25 yo
- Ivy grad with 3.45 GPA
- 770 GMAT
- 2 years investment banking with BB
- 2 years private equity with mid market firm
- Some, but not many, ECs in college and after

Your profile looks great! I'd say that all the people who apply to the top schools are exceptional in one way or another. Although you may think you're cookie cutter, your job is to differentiate yourself from all those other exceptional individuals. No two people are alike even though they may have similar backgrounds.

Here's me:
- Asian male 29 yo
- Big 10 grad with 3.67 GPA
- 750 GMAT
- 7+ years of work experience in supply chain management with several large CPG companies
- lots of ECs both in college and after

I could look at my profile all day and think that I'm too old, my school isn't as prestigious, or I haven't worked for this company or another but I can't change those things. I just try to stay positive, tell my story as best as I can, and hope that one of the schools I'm applying to will see that I can add value to their class. :)

Oh and I'm not applying to Wharton but besides that school I'm also hoping to attend a top school. Best of luck jmw125 and maybe we'll get to be in class together at a great school! It's tough since statistically we need to beat out ~9 other worthy people for a spot in any of the schools we're applying to but I'm glad that its that selective. If I get in, I'll know that I did a good job telling my story and I'll be glad when working with my future classmates that I have incredible people to rely on.
