Sweaters/Zippers allowed?

Hi,

I just watched "Take a Tour of the Test Centre" video on mba.com and it says watches, cell phones, coats and calculators are not allowed.

Am I allowed to wear a sweater or zipper ? The policy reads:

"Dress comfortably and be prepared to adapt if the room temperature changes." What is the correct interpretation of this sentence?

Hey kartikshah!! Yes you can wear a sweater or a hoodie or whatever with a zipper - that's sort of what they're suggesting with that sentence, that in case the room has an overzealous A/C system, that you might get chilled so you should dress in layers. It's going to be specific to your locale/climate - sometimes in the U.S., office buildings where GMAT tests are often held can get really cold in the summertime etc. That's all that they're saying. They know that being comfortable while you take the test is important so that you can focus and they're suggesting that you may need to be prepared to bring an extra layer, or take one off, depending on how radically climate-controlled the room is - in either direction. :-)

Perhaps cargo pants with a gazillion zippers and pockets might cause them to raise an eyebrow - you wouldn't want too many accessories and baubles hanging off your clothes obviously, that might get them worried about you! A pullover sweater should be fine.

Sorry I missed your question! To clarify: You can not bring outerwear in to the test center. You can bring a sweater or sweatshirt, however it may be inspected by the TA. EssaySnark gives good advice to dress in layers so you can find a comfortable temperature. Good luck on your exam!
