To Whoever Has An Answer,
I graduated top of my class from Oregon State University's Honors College with a 4.0 GPA in Chemistry in 2011 (first person to do have this GPA with this major in over 15 years). However, I didn't go into that field for work. In fact, I'm now a full time actor in Hollywood. So for the past year my work experience has been that of an entrepreneur, or a small business owner, in which I am the product. Of course it has also become a priceless experience in my own philosophical and interpersonal growth. But I'm finding new inspiration in the prospect of public policy and business.
My question is this: Would I be taken seriously as an applicant to Harvard Business School, and/or the joint program with HLS or HKS (JDMBA/MBAMPP), with my very unique work experience? I am confident I can score 700+ on the GMAT, and of course I'd have my wonderful undergraduate record, but the other factors concern me. The thing is, business in Hollywood has taught me extremely valuable lessons in client relations, pitching products, among other things. However, as an actor there aren't really any "superiors" that would be able to write a recommendation.
