Hi Stacy,
I just gave my GMAT today for the first time and scored a 680. (46Q,37V) (Percentiles 80Q 83V). I was hoping for a 700-720, but ended up with a 680.I was actually surprised to see myself perform better on my verbal section than my quantitative section, which was not the case during my practice tests (percentile wise). i was typically getting a 48-49Q and a 31-33V
I am 25/M from India. I graduated from a US school with a degree in Information systems (Cumulative GPA of 3.76 - All As and a few Bs).
I have been working in the US for about 4 years consulting and working with startups. I believe I have had a commendable career growth and have a proven entrepreneurial track (will spare you the details). I am certain of getting good letters of reccomendations.
Keeping these factors in mind, I would like your opinion on - whether I should retake the GMAT. I have an extremely busy schedule for the next few months and I am afraid that trying to squeeze in another round of GMAT will be a huge undertaking for me. However, I do want to get into top programs such as Wharton, Tuck, Columbia, NYU and Kellogg.
Do you think I have a good shot at gettting into one of these programs with my profile with a score of 680. I have been researching all those theories out there (80/80 rule, Indian male demographic etc) and I can't seem to decide if i should just apply with a 680.
Thanks
