To find : 1/2 * PT * ST

Statement 1:
PT * ST = 24
So, Area = 1/2 * 24 = 12
SUFFICIENT

Statement 2:
RT=5,
We cannot deduce any info
INSUFFICIENT

In the figure shown, what is the area of triangular region PRT ?
(1) The area of rectangular region PQST is 24.
(2) The length of line segment RT is 5.
Q: A(PRT) = ?

St1: Given PQST is a rectangle, A(PQST) = Length * Breadth = 24
But Length = Base of the triangle & Breadth = Height of the triangle
So we can find the area by the formula (1/2)*b*h
SUFFICIENT

St2: We just know one side of a triangle, PQST can be any figure. INSUFFICIENT

Answer A
