The average (arithematic mean) of a list of numbers is what percent of the sum of the numbers?

(1) There are 8 numbers in the list
(2) The sum of the numbers in the list is 100

I Chose C, but unbelieveablly the answer is A, why the hell is that???? Pls explain me. Thank you

Average = Total / No. of Numbers

From (1) No of numbers = 8

Avg = Total / 8 (which is 12.5% of total)

Sufficient

From (2) Total is given, but we dont know No. of numbers.

Perhaps re-arrange to emphasize the quantity we are looking for:
The average (arithematic mean) of a list of numbers is what percent of the sum of the numbers?
Average = x% * Sum
x% = Average/Sum

St 1: There are 8 numbers in the list.
Average = Sum/8 --> Divide by Sum
Average/Sum = 1/8 = x%
