n closer to 50 or 75?

OA is A.

But why do you need to assume that n is between 50 and 75. I might be a negative integer or number.

Let me know.

Statement 1 –
75 – n > n – 50

- n – n > - 50 – 75
- 2n > -125
2n < 125 (multiply by – and change the inequality sign)
N < 62.5

62.5 is evenly spaced between 50 and 75, if n is less than 62.5 then it is closer to 50.

Statement 2 n > 60 n could be any number between 61 and 75. therefore no sufficient

But without knowing whether n is positive or negative, we don't simplify the equation.

Only if you are dividing or multiplying both sides by n. Otherwise if you're just adding/subtracting, it doesn't matter if n's positive or negative.

exactly, as the above poser said.

And since its less than 62.5 , even if its negative it will be closer to 50.
