Of the X applicants for a certain job, 1/6 were interviewed. If 2/5 of those interviewed were given a second interview, how many of the X applicants were not given a second interview?
A. 9 X/11
B. X/15
C. 14 X/15
C. 13 X/30
D. 17 X/30

total no of applicants interviewed is 1/6

and then 2/5 of those who interviewed were given a
second interview that means 1/6*2/5 = 1/15.

so applicants whom the second interview was not given
are 1-1/15= 14/15.

Hence C is the answer.
