by rajbaniya » Tue Aug 14, 2012 10:35 am
Dear All
I am currently working and also have 3 months of time to prepare for GMAT.
I have scheduled my plan as below
a)1 st month for Quant and Data sufficiency
Books- 1st Kaplan Math review for concepts
then OG questions for review and after that Kaplan 800
Same sequence for each type of quant questions.

b) 2nd month for verbal
Please tell best books for preparation for
1) Sentence correction and CR questions.

c) last month for IR and AWA practice and
Mock tests.

I am planning to take GMAT on Nov 20th.

Please add your views for best books or any modifications required in preparation plan.

Regards
Rajdeep

- Take some mock tests in between your preparation schedule.
- Do not try to improve it one by one.
- Try to work on all the sections evenly so that you remember the shortcuts/strategies whatever you learn till the end.
- Two whole months of preparation without any mock tests in the middle will not be of much use.
- You should know where you stand and how much you need to improve, what you need to learn in order to reach that score - All these can be done only with the help of mock tests.
- A whole month for IR and AWA is a total waste of time - you should spend a day or two for those or may be a week at the max.

The purpose of the mock tests is to
* improve your timing strategy
* testing experience
* analyze where you are weak and where you are strong

You wont gain anything taking loads of tests in the last month alone.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

As a backup plan, you might want to follow BTG's free 60-day Study Guide: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide
This will ensure that you cover all of the concepts that the GMAT tests.

Cheers,
