What is the difference between these two sentences ?

I may be naive in asking this question but wanted to understand the concept. Can someone tell me what's the difference between :-


Kim needs a tennis trainer, like her brother.

Kim needs a tennis trainer like her brother.

Kim needs a tennis trainer like her brother does.

Also how does putting a comma (,) alters the meaning.Plz help

Kim needs a tennis trainer, like her brother. This sentence is the same as 'Like her brother, Kim needs a tennis trainer' --> In this case the modifier 'like her brother' is modifying 'Kim'.

Kim needs a tennis trainer like her brother. --> Kim needs a tennis trainer. What kind of tennis trainer? A tennis trainer who is like her brother. In this case 'like her brother' is modifying 'a tennis trainer'

Kim needs a tennis trainer like her brother does. This means the same as the 1st sentence but no modifiers are used. Two things are simply compared - 'Kim needs' and 'her brother does (needs)'
