GMAT (1st Attempt -> 530 Q44,V18. I was completely tired by the time Verbal section began. I couldnt concentrate on Verbal. I couldnt think on CR. I had a 97% accuracy in the last 30 Qs in OG SC and CR. But could nt preform on D Day :( ) GMATPrep1-> 580, GMATPrep2 ->620 47/28.
I want to better improve both my Quant as well as Verbal. (I have learnt from my prev mistake. I m giving more importance to Quality rather than Quantity of qs i practice in a day. Reviewing the incorrect ones couples of times)

1. Which is the best way to utilize a weekend. Should I try to switch between subjects (quant, verbal) after concentrating for 2hrs in one section. 2 hrs Quant (practice and review)-> break for 20 min -> 2 hrs Verbal (learn, practice and review).

2. Should i take a full length test during the weekend. I prefer taking it on a weekday(review it the same day and next day). Because I am working professional I want to make the best use a weekend.

3. Earlier i used to prepare all 7 days in a week. Should i take 1day rest every week to improve retention?

4. Anything you wish to add to improve my preparation and tips on how to prepare physically and mentally for GMAT.

I too am a working professional. Here is what I have been doing:

- during the week, I get up an hour earlier and study for an hour before work--usually just doing practice problems. I do this because I have a hard time concentrating at night, plus I took my GMAT at an early morning appointment, so this helps get my brain "used" to thinking early. Plus, I enjoy being able to enjoy my cup of coffee and breakfast over GMAT before rushing out the door.

- I try to do at least an hour at night when I get home from work, but I don't hold myself to this. If I'm really tired, I rest. I use my brain all day!

-Because of this, I make the most out of my weekends. I make a list on Friday of what topics I want to concentrate on, then spend all day Saturday reviewing, then Sunday take a practice test. I take breaks on Saturdays--every 1.5-2 hours I get up, walk around, get a snack, walk the dog, etc to try to revitalize my mind.

I'm working to re-write the test now, but the first time I took it I didn't have any issues with stamina. I think you just need to find what works best for you.

One important thing is to rest! You don't want to drive yourself crazy. I would shorten your sessions too. No reason to do 2 hour stints for practice problems when the sections are only 75 mins long. Definitely take your practice exams on the weekend to avoid fatigue and try to take them at the same time you would take the normal exam. Hope this helps.
