I pick D, but C is a close second. A, B and E are out because the linking statement should contain info about both instances (when one should feel pity or gratitude).

I chose D over C because the "unreasonable"-ness of anger is already discussed in the opening sentence.

What's the source of these wacky questions?

IMO C

Here is my analysis:
results
insult ---------> Anger

insult = assertion of bad character

if assertion = false
==> pity/ignorance
if assertion = true
==> grateful/useful info

so either one should be pitiful or grateful for insult...
Hence C

Hope my analysis is correct :-)

I think these questions are unnecassarily harder I did not see any question in OA or somewhere these are 800 + and for natives
