To start, I'm curious about why you would attempt the GMAT without doing any study for it. Were you facing some type of application deadline? Beyond that question, why is your score goal a 500+? It's a relatively modest goal (the average goal on the Official GMAT hovers around 540-550 most years), so it's absolutely achievable. However, since you've done no study yet, you have to learn all of the necessary content, practice Tactics and hone your overall Test Taking skills - and all of that work takes time. Since you're essentially starting 'from scratch', it's likely that you will need at least 2-3 months of consistent, guided study to hit your goal. By extension, the idea to retest in late April or early May is probably not realistic - so you might have to consider pushing back your planned Test Date.

1) When you took the GMAT, did you have to rush to finish any of the sections (and if so, how many questions did you end up guessing on? Did you leave any questions unanswered?)?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
