Limon Dance Company

by vikram4689 » Sat Jul 02, 2011 9:30 am
The Limon Dance Company believes that, since the death of Jose Limon in 1972, they have and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey, who both choreographed works in the company's active repertory.

(A) they have and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,

(B) they have and will continue to perpetuate Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey's shared artistic vision,

(C) it has and will continue to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,

(D) it has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating the shared artistic vision that Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey shared,

(E) it has continued to perpetuate the shared artistic vision of Limon and mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey,
Why is D wrong, KAPLAN SAYS "it has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating" is grammatical but too wordy and awkward. (E) says the same thing concisely using "it has continued to perpetuate." BUT I THINK E changes the meaning
D is way too much on wrong side, 'who' in underlined part requires Doris Humphery to be adjacent, so on that account itself D is wrong, ask who who..

I thought C and E are close as in C will and continue to is worst than has continued which represnets sense of continuitysince some time.

Hi,
D has many problems
'shared vision that X and Y shared'?? Isn't this redundant?
shared vision of X and Y is better.
'who' is placed after 'shared' in D. It is placed after noun phrase which is modified in E.
Cheers!

Things are not what they appear to be... nor are they otherwise
